Latest updates and information

The government has updated local restrictions for St Helens Borough and the rest of Merseyside from Saturday 3 October to help reduce the rate of COVID-19 infection in the borough.

These measures are:

  • Social mixing between different households, except in outdoor public spaces like parks and outdoor hospitality, is against the law.
  • You are advised to only travel for essential reasons such as going to work or school.
  • You are advised to avoid attending amateur or professional sports events as a spectator.
  • You are advised to avoid visiting care homes except in exceptional circumstances.

Current rules around support bubbles and childcare arrangements are not affected at this time.

NHS services will continue to be open as normal – it is important that you still attend appointments and follow guidelines to keep safe while attending these.
